2025-26 FALL/WINTER SEASON TRYOUTS!
Pre-registration for tryouts is not required, walk-ins are welcome. Swimmers must only arrive ready to swim, and parents can fill out necessary paperwork on site. Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare and fill out paperwork, or pre-print the tryout form here.
- Tuesday, June 24th, 6:30pm. YMCA at the Piscataway Community Center.
- Tuesday, July 8th, 6:30pm. Raritan Bay Area YMCA (Perth Amboy).
- Tuesday, July 22nd, 6:30pm. YMCA at the Piscataway Community Center.
- Saturday, August 9th, 9:00am. Brookside Swim Club (Milltown).
- Saturday, August 23rd, 9:00am. Brookside Swim Club (Milltown).
- Locations:
- Brookside: 41 Washington Avenue, Milltown, New Jersey, 08850. Brookside is located behind the police station! You must drive into the police station parking lot, drive through the parking lot, then find the gravel parking lot on the other side.

Swimmers who completed the entire 2024-25 winter season with Riptide are NOT required to try out again to return, but keep the dates in mind to tell your friends and summer teammates!

2024-2025 Swim Team Tryouts
The FSPY swim team is a year-round competitive program for young men and women ages 6-18 who love to swim!
Tryouts for 2025-2026 Swim Season
| Tuesday, July 15th | 4:30-6:30pm |
| Thursday, July 17th | 4:30-6:30pm |
| Tuesday, July 22nd | 4:30-6:30pm |
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of tryouts. Tryouts will begin with a short in-water clinic with FSPY coaches, followed by the time trials.
Swimmers should plan to attend the entire session.
Swimmers only need to attend one of the tryout dates
| ***WHAT TO EXPECT at FSPY TRY-OUTS*** After a 30-minute warm-up instructional clinic, all swimmers will time-trial in 3 events: 8/unders will swim 25s of any 3 strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke or Butterfly). 9-12s will swim the 100 Individual Medley and two 50s of any stroke they choose. 13-and-over swimmers must have prior competitive swim team experience and will swim the 200 Individual Medley and two 100s of any stroke they choose |
All interested swimmers must register at the front desk of our YMCA at least 24 hours prior to each try-out. There is a $25 registration fee for anyone who registers prior to the try-out dates. Registration forms can be found in the links below, and must be filled out and returned prior to each try-out.
